    Barton Academy was originally built in 1836 as Alabama's first public school. The school's doors will reopen to students in 2021 as a model for 21st century learning with a focus on global studies and entrepreneurship, taught through a project-based approach. The Barton Academy for Advanced World Studies' innovative labs will prepare our students for their future through collaborative emerging technologies and STEM.
